247: Pastor Plek, Pastor Mo, Leah Brown, and Machine Gun Nick recap Sunday’s sermon on the final plague in Egypt. They answer a question from one of our listeners and even do a brief dive into the 5 points of Calvinism and Limited Atonement.
Faith, Culture, and everything in between.
Questions:
Exodus 12:29-32 is a tough verse when taken on its own. It seems to imply that God is responsible for the death of the first born. However, God is the source of truth and cannot lie. If he already gave his word in Gen 12:3 that he would curse anyone who curses his people. In light of this, why do we place responsibility on God rather than Pharaoh? God promised "Do A and I will be forced to do B", Pharoah does A and God's hand is forced. Why do we not read this as Pharaoh being the one responsible? Almost like sticking your finger in an electric outlet and then blaming the electric outlet for shocking you rather than sticking your finger in it when you knew what would happen.
Who do you think the angel of death is?
